My musical journey: A lifelong passion

My love of music began at the age of 8 when I first sat down at a piano. That initial spark ignited a lifelong dedication that has shaped my path as a teacher, collaborative pianist, and arranger. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Music degree from Western Carolina University, and I am currently pursuing a Master of Music degree in Piano Performance and Pedagogy at the University of Georgia.

Experience that sets me apart

With a rich background in various musical disciplines, I bring a unique perspective to every student and collaboration. From playing piano since childhood to performing trumpet in numerous concert and jazz ensembles, my versatility is a cornerstone of my approach. I also marched mellophone and served as section leader for the Pride of the Mountains marching band, even performing in Dublin's St. Patrick's Day parade. My arranging skills have benefited the Pride of the Mountains and local high schools in Western NC.

My leadership experience extends to serving as song director for the Phi Mu Alpha men's choir from 2024-2025, teaching weekly choir rehearsals and organizing concerts. Additionally, I gained valuable insight as a brass technician at Smoky Mountain High School in 2025. This diverse experience allows me to offer comprehensive guidance and a deep understanding of music in many forms.

As an emerging teacher and collaborator, I am committed to continuous learning, ensuring that I grow alongside my students and fellow musicians. My dedication extends beyond our time together: I proactively research repertoire, explore effective practice methods, and craft personalized lesson plans. For collaborative piano, I invest time outside rehearsals to master not just my part, but to understand the entire ensemble's contribution, fostering truly cohesive performances.
